This Eighth Doctor novel is the end of the Faction Paradox story arc, but the end of more than that. The war between the Time Lords and Faction Paradox finally ends, destroying both of them in the process and leaving the Doctor stranded on Earth with amnesia.
This book wasn't particularly well written--it reminded me of Peter David, unpleasantly--and I noticed several typos. Romana is the President of Gallifrey in this novel, and her current incarnation is, to put it charitably, highly unpleasant. So is the whole novel, even for a doomsday story. But I like doomsday stories, and got what I expected in this novel.
